What is the Carbon Protocol of SA?

The Carbon Protocol of SA is a section 21, not-for-profit organisation, registered in April 2009. The Carbon Protocol of SA was established as a collaborative entity of concerned and interested parties within South Africa, with the aim of raising awareness and facilitating the transition to a climate resilient society, through:

1 Presenting and hosting the Climate Hero Awards (CHA) to recognise and reward African heroes working towards inclusive, low carbon economic growth, a reduction in the impact and risks of extreme weather, green options for food security and a healthy continent.

cha logoThe Climate Hero Awards (CHA) are the first awards in South Africa, and Africa, that recognize, reward, motivate and celebrate leaders and heroes in our businesses (small and large), communities, schools and cities that are taking the lead through positive voluntary action by implementing a range of activities to combat global warming.

The CHA contribute significantly to inspiring and promoting awareness and action towards a low carbon economy, and thus a healthier society and a more sustainable planet.
